Leslie Sisco-Wise, MD
Dr. Leslie Sisco-Wise is the Section Head of Hand Surgery at Ochsner Health System and the former President of the Louisiana Orthopaedic Association. She specializes in hand, shoulder, and elbow surgery, with clinical interests in microsurgery and upper extremity care, including arthroscopy and microvascular techniques. Dr. Sisco-Wise earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University, completed her orthopedic surgery residency there, and pursued a hand surgery fellowship at the University of California.
Kathleen McKeon, MD
Dr. Kathleen E. McKeon is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand and wrist surgery, with expertise in sports injuries, fracture care, nerve surgery, and microsurgery. A graduate of Yale University and Washington University in St Louis School of Medicine, she completed her orthopedic residency in St. Louis and a hand surgery fellowship at Vanderbilt University. Recognized as one of Birmingham’s Top Doctors and a leader in her field, Dr. McKeon is also a dedicated team physician and researcher focused on sports-related hand and wrist injuries.
Lauren Shapiro, MD
Dr. Lauren Shapiro is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in upper extremity injuries, with a focus on traumatic and sports-related conditions. She earned her medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine, completed her orthopedic surgery residency there, and pursued a fellowship in orthopedic surgery at Duke University, where she also earned a master’s degree in health analytics. Her research centers on patient-centered care, shared decision-making, and improving treatment quality, particularly in resource-limited settings, and she actively contributes to global initiatives advancing surgical care and education.
