November 18, 2024

A medial column arthrodesis is a surgical procedure where the bones of the medial column of the foot (typically the talus, navicular, and medial cuneiform) are fused together, essentially creating a solid joint to correct deformities like flatfoot by stabilizing the medial arch of the foot; it’s essentially a “joint fusion” procedure focused on the medial side of the midfoot.
